I don't think Vigan is the "oldest surviving Spanish colonial city"? Maybe the author intended to say the oldest in the Philippines? {{subst:unsignendIP|211.30.187.229|12:13, 4 February 2005 (UTC)}}

I have replaced "oldest surviving Spanish colonial city" with something more appropriate. 212.99.255.42 15:35, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Move to Vigan City

[edit]

I'm not personally familiar with Vigan, but generally the convention for Philippine cities is to have city articles titled in the form "Vigan City". This article may have been created at Vigan by someone not familiar with the convention. I'm putting this through Requested moves. TheCoffee 6 July 2005 04:46 (UTC)

Move done. TheCoffee 16:24, 21 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion

[edit]

How about adding some details about the history of the city? Not to mention pictures this this place is constantly being promoted by Philippines as a tourist spot, not to mention being a World Heritage Site. Joey80 06:37, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

<Cityname> <City>

[edit]

There is a discussion regarding the removal of the word "city" from the article titles of Philippine cities. This may imminently affect the article name for Vigan. For city names which are not unique, disambiguation alternatives are also being presented. Formal request for page move may follow after a reasonable time of discussion. If you wish to participate, please post your comments here. --JinJian (talk) 04:41, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
