A5 road
[edit]The A5 isn't a trunk road where it passes through Corwen.--JBellis 20:03, 13 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Wikipedia defines a trunk road as: "A trunk road, trunk highway, or strategic road is a major road—usually connecting one or more cities, ports, airports, etc.—which is the recommended route for long-distance and freight traffic. Many trunk roads have segregated lanes in a dual carriageway, or are motorway standard". What is your reason for thinking this doesn't apply to the stretch of the A5 through Corwen? Also, the North Wales Trunk Road Agency map seems to suggest that the A5 is a trunk road for it's entire length.
- I see what you mean about the North Wales Trunk Road Agency [1]. However, the A5 in North Wales hasn't been the recommended route for long distance traffic since the A55 was built around the coast providing a dual carriageway from Holyhead to the M53. There is no signing at Holyhead recommending the A5 as the quickest way to Birmingham for example. --JBellis 17:32, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Culture
[edit]I know nothing of Edward H. Dafis but I do know that Amen Corner were from Wales, and they acheived considerable success in the 1960s. Maybe this should read "first notable Welsh Language rock band". Red van man (talk) 08:59, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
