This entire entry is misinformation. I happen to be a HUGE Cree Summer fan, and there is no commercial release for Cree Summer called "The Cree Summer EP." The item being referenced here is a promotional sampler that was distributed in limited quantity to radio and media to promote the full length album "Street Faerie." Someone obviously mistakenly added it as a legitimate release, but it's not. Though I support detailed discography listings here at Wikipedia, we couldn't possibly list every single promotional CD tied to an artist, nor should we; they are not commercially available and aren't really even meant to be obtained by the public (generally); Cree Summer has released two albums (one with a band,) and one single (in several versions and always outside of the U.S.) This entry should be completely removed. In the interem I will revise the main Cree Summer entry to be more factually accurate. DELETE Pacian 15:50, 31 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Delete: I'd say that EP's are beyond the scope of the encyclopedia anyway (mention them in the main, but don't make an article for them), and promo kits are right out. If we were to do that, then the most important would be the various Elvis and Beatles Christmas cards and magazine/fanclub flexis. Geogre 18:29, 31 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Well, I would have to say I strongly disagree with you there, Geogre, and think that maybe you have a lack of understanding for the modern definition of an E.P. For instance, The E.P. "Crucify" is considered an integral part of the discography of singer Tori Amos, yet it is only five tracks long. These days an "E.P." is usually a mini-album released by an artist as part of their main discography, and stands apart from a "single" which would naturally not deserve its own entry in the wiki. Not that this relates to the Cree Summer EP entry. Pacian 01:55, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- See, there have been some great and important EP's in the past. The Love Will Tear Us Apart (Again) EP was very important, esp. the 12" with "Atmosphere" on it. That said, we have only just begun not voting delete on albums. I think that EP's should be discussed in the discography, but, although we have music, we're not really a specialist music encyclopedia. It's too late for definitions now, but I see the subject of an encyclopedia article as being the changes in culture. There are EP's made from artistic reasons and EP's made from poverty, too. The latter are usually pretty minor. Geogre 04:26, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)
