Does anyone know anything about really early Petter engines? The first engine I know anything about is the first handyman... -Joey-
Petter vs. Petters
[edit]Does anyone have definative proof of what the name of the company was? I have a book on engines that repetedly refers to them as 'Petter Limited' however on several websites the name is 'Petters Limited'.
Thanks,

I made the change because I have a copy of a catalogue issued by the company (for whom my grandfather worked), which I reference in the article. I also have other corporate ephemera. Percy Petter (who founded the company) and AH Lukins (who was commissioned by WEstland) call the company Petters in their books. --Theo (Talk) 06:22, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)
As a resident of Egham Hythe I've always known the company as Petters.
The company at Egham and Hamble was "Petter Ltd.", commonly referred to as "Petter's". I worked at the Egham factory during the 1960s and 70s. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.9.236.81 (talk) 20:10, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
