Twin Towns

[edit]

If the city in question shares its name with another city in the same country, add in the state or province it belongs to. "Rochester, USA" is vague. "Otsu, Japan" is not (as far as I know, but if there is another city in Japan named Otsu, clarify it). "Hollywood, USA" would not be vague as even though there's more than one, that reference always refers to the place in California. Sparkhead 15:29, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The following discussion on the German version of this page is of interest here aswell:

In English article, Faribault (Minnesota, USA) is written as one of twin towns. But the section of Städtepartnerschaften in this article does not mention the city. Which is wrong ? --QBay 15:19, 15. Jun. 2009 (CEST)
Comparing the English article with the German one, one detects two discrepencies: The German article does not list neither Faribault (Minnesota, USA) nor Arad in Western Romania. Born in Würzburg myself, I have no knowledge about a partnership with either of the two, while I do have such knowledge about the others. As my private knowledge proves nothing, here is the webside of the Würzburg townhall [1] which only lists those of the German article. This official websites provides no hint that there would be different levels of partnerships as one might come to comclude from English article.

Could you provide a reference for the partnerships which are only listed in the English article? Otherwise I'd suggest to remove those. Wiki Surfer BCR 14:25, 16. Jun. 2009 (CEST) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.107.9.202 (talk) 12:26, 16 June 2009 (UTC) [reply]

"Dom/Dome"

[edit]

I believe if we speak of the Würzburger Dom it's Dom not Dome. A local variant? --Wetman 04:12, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed it after double check with * Rudolf Kuhn, Großer Führer durch WŰRZBURGS DOM und NEUMŰNSTER: mit Neumünster-Kreuzgang und Walthergrab, 1968.--CSvBibra 23:22, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cemetery?

[edit]

Isn't there supposed to be a cemetery along side Würzburg Cathedral? I am looking at it on Google Earth and there's a small courtyard immediately to the south of the main structure, and a couple other smaller courtyards scattered around, but none look like they have a cemetery in them. Tilman Riemenschneider the famous sculpter is supposed to be buried there. --Ragemanchoo (talk) 04:36, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is a court yard to one side of the church with a large number of graves, many are members of the cathedral chapter. Riemenschneider's grave stone however is on the outer wall on the other side facing the Neumuenster church. From google earth it can actually be seen as a plaque on the outside wall.--CSvBibra (talk) 06:47, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

This article is in great need of references, a lot of the information regarding WW2 could be especially considered biased, such as the claim it was mostly the elderly and children who died in the bombing —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.157.193.22 (talk) 23:55, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
