Incorrect statement about origin of the Infinite man
[edit]It was Rond Vidar, not Invisible Kid, whom B5 assisted in the project that created Infinite Man. I've edited the article accordingly.
.... I believe it was accurate. Prove it. Actually, not really. Because I don't care.
Fair use rationale for Image:Brainiac5.jpg
[edit]Image:Brainiac5.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

References added
[edit]No one added any references to this page? When I came here a month ago tracking down something that was pretty mucha disgusting sight to behold. Oh wells, there are some there now, essentially what issues I can link in where. When I figure out which other issues go where I'll add more refs. References are needed on every wikipedia page for a reason - they help clarify information as well as confirm correctness of text. They have many uses for reader and editor alike. WikiProject Comics B-Class Assesment required

If the checklist is not filled in by 7th August this article will be re-assessed as C-Class. The checklist should be filled out referencing the guidance given at Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment/B-Class criteria. For further details please contact the Comics WikiProject. Other Versions
[edit]Please go through the "other versions" section and see if anything there should be under the "fictional character biography" or "publication history" sections. --Xero (talk) 18:36, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
- Going by the logic of the other Legion articles, all of it should. Those weren't alternate universe variations or elseworlds stories, they were all in continuity for their time. They usually just get their own sub-sections under "fictional character biography." Nutiketaiel (talk) 14:48, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
- Because they occurred on alternate earths they are considered other versions. The one that occured on New Earth is the main continuity. You will probably have to update all Legion articles because of this. --Xero (talk) 16:20, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
- We don't even know for sure which Legion is the Legion of "New Earth" yet. Nutiketaiel (talk) 20:23, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
- I think it is easier to keep the article broken up by publication history, and not do the whole Alternate Earths thing. But, like Nutiketaiel said, we don't know which Legion is of New Earth, and for that matter, how long that will last with the upcoming Adventure Comics and R.E.B.E.L.S. Comics. Sgetz (talk) 21:00, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
- We do know which Legion it is, Geoff Johns already revealed that Superman's Legion is the Legion of New Earth. --Xero (talk) 19:22, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
- Whether that's true or not is largely irrelevant. The fact is that the post-Zero Hour Reboot Legion was the only Legion existing or being published for 10 years, and that the Threeboot Legion was the only one being published for 2 years. We're not talking about Superboy's Legion here- these are fully fleshed out and established continuities that were the only versions of the Legion being published during their time periods, and only became "alternate universes" because of ret-cons. Since we're an encyclopedia, and not an in-universe guide to DC, they deserve equal treatment with the other continuities, in my opinion. Nutiketaiel (talk) 20:30, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Threeboot
[edit]The term Threeboot makes no sense, seeing as continuity was never actually rebooted, perspective was just switched to an alternate Earth. This is why I used the company term "One Year Later". --Xero (talk) 19:37, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
- The continuity was rebooted. The alternate universe crap was yet another retcon (see my above). Nutiketaiel (talk) 20:30, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
"Chalk Zone!" Appearance
[edit]I know Brainiac, in some iteration, was parodied in the Nickelodeon series "Chalk Zone!" multiple times, with the Crainiac characters. Should this be added to this article? Is there a parent page for Brainiac? --MaxyDawg (talk) 05:35, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
Appearance in Adventure Comics #247
[edit]While rereading Adventure Comics #247 (the Legion's first appearance) I noticed a cameo appearance of Brainiac 5 on page 11. He is not addressed by name but has blonde hair, green skin, and Brainiac 5's purple costume. I was reading a reprint so I'm not sure that the coloring was redone to make the background character into Brainiac 5. If not, Adventure Comics #247 should be his first appearance not Action Comics #276.--Marcus Brute (talk) 00:33, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm familiar with the panel you're refering to. That was recolored for the reprint. Nutiketaiel (talk) 20:44, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
- Agreed. The character was "white" in the actual comic, and made green in the 1991 reprint. 2001:8003:6425:F201:A4FD:E481:C7FB:D63E (talk) 10:02, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
Is Brainy gay?
[edit]Just wondering considering he and Superboy in the cartoon were a little too "close". No offense, just curious.(JoeLoeb (talk) 02:03, 27 January 2009 (UTC))
- In the reboot version there was some suggestion along the lines of him being bisexual, but it was never fleshed out or confirmed, and any mention in the articles would be original research unless there was a good source for it. Nutiketaiel (talk) 20:48, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
Let's think very seriously about why any divergence from assumed cisgender and heterosexual characterisation in an alien species that is in effect a massive hivemind of robots is "original research". For the sake of argument, that sounds incredibly ridiculous. The burden of proof in the 21st century shouldn't be on proving an ALIEN isn't what humans have decided is "normal" when it isn't 100% even among humankind. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.177.140.74 (talk) 08:32, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
Brainy (JLU)
[edit]I would like to include this info from DC Animated wiki:
Since Brainiac 5 is an organic being, it is difficult to determine the method of his creation. One possible theory involves the merging of the original Brainiac with Lex Luthor in the early 21st Century. Brainiac may have been able to duplicate his consciousness in an organic brain due to his direct connection to Luthor's mind. There is also a slight possibility that Brainiac 5 is a descendant of Lex Luthor, and he has inherited the vast intellect of his ancestors. However, this is only speculation.
Please, (JoeLoeb (talk) 00:49, 7 February 2009 (UTC))
- The last sentence is why the entire section should not be included - it's speculation. More accurately, fan speculation. - J Greb (talk) 15:01, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
C-Class rated for Comics Project
[edit]As this B-Class article has yet to receive a review, it has been rated as C-Class. If you disagree and would like to request an assesment, please visit Wikipedia:WikiProject_Comics/Assessment#Requesting_an_assessment and list the article. Hiding T 14:58, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
- I threw in an assessment, though it is still C-Class since, in my opinion, it is lacking on criteria 1 & 5. Nutiketaiel (talk) 20:44, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
"12 Level"
[edit]I read some of the early appearances of the Legion of Super-Heroes. According to them, he is at first wasn't twice as smart than 20th century Earth. His intelligence was to be rivaled a comupter. Shouldn't that be mentioned? -Golem866 (talk) 23:07, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
